United Way is known for our stable source of funding for over 70 programs and special initiatives. But we also know that people have brilliant ideas that just need a chance. So United Way opened an Innovation Fund to promote innovative ways of strengthening our community.
One of our past Innovation Grants was Mainstream's Graffiti Removal Program. This program provides meaningful work experience for people with developmental disabilities while ridding our community of graffiti. This was our first Social Purpose Business and we are proud of Mainstream's initiative in trying something new. This program was funded eight years ago and today it is stronger than ever. Great work Mainstream!!
Check back for the 2015 Innovation Fund recipients to be announced later in July.
